Last month, we asked for your help in choosing the next great Facebook Platform applications. Thanks to those of you who tested the applications and contributed, over 180,000 votes were cast. We've narrowed down over 600 developers who applied for fbFund—Facebook's program to award grants to talented entrepreneurs who build applications that help you share, connect and discover on Facebook. And today, we're happy to announce the five grand prize winners and recipients of $250,000 each to put towards developing more meaningful applications for... you.

We hope you'll take a minute to check out each of them.

Celebrate a special occasion by organizing your friends on Facebook to sign a Groupcard—even if they're scattered, you can still rally everyone together to send an online card with messages, photos and music. Your card can be both online and off--with an option to print and deliver it in person.



Compete with friends in the social game, MouseHunt. Trap mice invading your kingdom as you vie to be the best mousehunter, and be sure to collect cheese along the way for more bait.

If you're in the exciting process of planning your wedding, Weddingbook can help you prepare for the big day, as well as find advice and support. You can interact with and introduce guests, countdown to your event, share photos and keep friends and family updated on plans.

These are just a few of the thousands of applications available on Facebook with many more to come.

We need your help to make Facebook even better. We're in the last stages of a competition to select the top five next-generation applications. Applications on Facebook make it easier for you to explore your interests and share and connect with your friends. Through fbFund, Facebook's program to award grants to talented entrepreneurs who we think will build successful, meaningful businesses on Facebook, we are awarding $225,000 to each of the top five teams. And we need your input.

We've narrowed the list down from 600 teams of developers and... entrepreneurs to these top 25 candidates. We made the first-round selections, but for the second round we want you to help by voting for your favorite applications. The finalists' ideas touch on everything from sports, games and parties to education, productivity and religion. View each team's 30-second overview and try out their application before voting.

Cast your vote by Sunday, November 30th. We expect to announce the winners the week of December 8th.

Instead of simply watching the World Series, many Facebook users are taking their baseball enthusiasm to a new level. Users are displaying their team loyalty and recruiting fans, taunting rivals and challenging their knowledge of team trivia and creating their own fantasy baseball line-ups, all on sports applications built on Facebook Platform.

So far, Phillies fans are outpacing Rays fans on Facebook, but they aren't far behind. If you'd like to read more about sports applications on Facebook, take a look at our developer blog.
