At Facebook, all-night coding sessions are known as Hackathons, and our next one is coming up on Wednesday, November 5th. Facebook engineers will be fueled by food, fun and a chance to build projects they couldn't pursue during regular hours.
Past Hackathons have been the starting point for Facebook Chat, our internationalization tool and the type ahead capability in search. Lots of ideas are already in the mix for Hackathon XI, but we're really interested in what you'd like to see. Send your ideas to hackathon-ideas@facebook.com, by 12PM,... Pacific Time, Monday, November 3rd to add your voice to the quest for the next great Facebook feature.
For more details, check out our engineering feed.
Pedram Keyani, the organizer of Hackathon XI, is a Facebook engineer who plans to keep coding until dawn.
